Ghana over time has had many Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. There is however a tribe whose indigenes have overtime been consistently at the forefront of Commerce and Industrial development on scale.
The KWAHU’S living largely on the Kwahu Plateau and the river Afram Plains of the Eastern Region of Ghana are nation-wide acclaimed as the doyens of commerce and entrepreneurship in Ghana.
Significant and large companies in the Breweries, Textiles, Paper, Pharmaceuticals, Building materials, Real Estate, Hospitality & Poultry have been owned by Kwahu’s. With yet a good number of top academia & corporate leaders notably in Banking, Finance, Energy and Communications hailing from there.
The need for the Kwahu businesses to come together as an association for economic dialogue with relevant institutions and government as well as advisory to its members is therefore apt.
The Kwahu Business Association (KBA), envisages Ghana as a thriving upper income country with a government policy led sustainable private business model. The Kwahu Business Association seeks to be at the forefront of this noble advocacy.
The KWAHU BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (KBA) is a non-Governmental Organization that seeks to bring together key Business Owners and Corporate Executives. It is an Association limited by Guarantee. It seeks to provide a national, impartial forum for meaningful connection and dialogue amongst stakeholders which includes Government and the Traditional Council to establish a thought process and build initiatives for the development of enabling environment toward the Economic Development of Ghana.
In the KBA, a forum is being created to enable respectful dialogue amongst leaders in different fields with varying viewpoints and government and relevant local and International Institutions, where diversity of thought will be encouraged and respected for Business Development. Members will also have the advisory benefit of proven leaders in relevant fields and foster the nurturing and growth of new businesses locally and in the sub region within the AFCFTA protocols.
Membership is limited to Kwahu businesses and Business Executives. However,non-Kwahu Businesses and Business Owners are welcome to join as Associate Members.
